Ich finde meine Idee, mich an einem Montagmorgen mit einem DJ zu treffen gerade weniger gut durchdacht aber es ist halb zehn in Deutschland .. kein Knoppers aber ein grosser schwarzer Kaffee steht vor uns und auch ein wenig zwischen uns aber was soll´s los geht´s! ..
Guten Morgen Herr Hoffman! Wie geht es Ihnen nach einem musikalisch erfolgreichen Wochenende?
Welchen Tag haben wir heute?
Montag..und ja,ich gestehe zu früh! achso ... ja ein wundervolles Wochenende liegt hinter mir. Freitag hab ich im Kater gespielt und Samstag ging es weiter ins Connection.
Also läuft alles sehr schön, wie´s klingt? Ja ich bin im Moment sehr zufrieden und freue mich sehr über neue Optionen die sich aufgetan haben.
Was erwartet uns in nächster Zeit? Eine Menge,da wären Labelshowcases mit "Shocked" , unteranderem auf dem Sónar Festival in Barcelona. Gigs in London im legendären "Relay" . ein Gig im "Flex" in Wien also wie gesagt ein Menge. Und vor allem dieses Jahr mein Gig an der Siegessäule zum World Peace Day.
Wow, das klingt nach viel aktion, bleiben da eigene Sachen wie neue Produktionen nicht auf der Strecke? Nein nein, im August kommt ein Track auf dem Label "Patro de Musica" raus, ausserdem mit den Jungs von "Dialtone" aus Mexiko. Was eine wirklich sehr professionelle Zusammenarbeit war...also auch dort passiert eine Menge. OK, wie schafft man dieses Pensum, auflegen, produzieren, organisieren, Familie usw? Es macht einfach mir einfach Spass und ich bekomme sehr viel Unterstützung.
Ich freue mich immer besonders über Kooperationen mit befreundeten Künstlern, da bringt jeder seinen eigenen Geschmack mit ein und durch diesen kreativen Part wird es sehr interessant und keineswegs stressig. Wie findet man geeignete Kooperationspartner? Meistens über den Austausch von weltweiten Produktionen oder über DJ Kollegen. Dem Internet sei Dank, kommt man schnell in Kontakt.
Woher kommen deine stilistischen Einflüsse?
Ohje, da muss ich überlegen ... ich denke aus dem "New York House" ich hab mit dem Auflegen ja auch in New York angefangen,das prägt. Dann würd ich sagen viel "Minimal", "Deep House" und ein gesunder Mix aus allem. Zum Beispiel Tom Waits, Bands wie Pearl Jam oder auch Armand van Helden oder Motown Einflüsse, spielen eine Rolle.
Gibt es sowas wie Vorbilder für dich? Chuck Norris! OK.. der Held der alles kann .. du sagtest deine Wurzeln zwecks Auflegen sind in New York, erzähl ein bisschen davon! Ja, keine Ahnung,wie alt bzw jung ich da war aber ich hab im "limelight" in New York das erste mal aufgelegt und ich würde sagen ich war nervös aber dort hab ich sofort gefühlt, das ich das tun will.

Monday..and yes,I confess too early! oh well... yes, a wonderful weekend is behind me. Friday I played at the Kater and Saturday I went on to the Connection.so everything is going very well, as it sounds? Yes, I'm very happy at the moment and I'm very happy about new options that have opened up.What awaits us in the near future? A lot, there are label showcases with "Shocked", among others on the Són. among others at the Sónar Festival in Barcelona. Gigs in London in the legendary "Relay" . a gig in the "Flex" in Vienna so as I said a lot. And especially this year my gig at the Siegessäule for the World Peace Day. How do you find suitable cooperation partners? Mostly through the exchange of worldwide productions or through DJ colleagues. Thanks to the internet, you can get in contact quickly.Where do your stylistic influences come from?Oh dear, I have to think ... I think from the "New York House" I have started with the DJing also in New York, that shapes. Then I would say a lot of "Minimal", "Deep House" and a healthy mix of everything.
